Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 21, 2026
Arbory is an iOS app that lets you view your Plausible Analytics dashboard on your iPhone. Your privacy is simple to explain: Arbory does not collect, store, or send your personal data anywhere.
What Arbory does not do
- Does not collect personal information
- Does not track you or your usage
- Does not include analytics SDKs or crash reporters
- Does not share data with third parties (except your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter, see below)
- Does not use advertising or ad identifiers
Data stored on your device
Arbory stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your Plausible connection details, securely stored in the iOS Keychain
- Your site list and cached dashboard data, stored on-device for offline access and widget display
- App preferences, your settings, stored locally
None of this data ever leaves your device or is transmitted to Arbory's developers.
Network connections
Arbory makes the following network requests:
- Your Plausible instance. Arbory connects directly to your Plausible Analytics server (whether cloud-hosted or self-hosted) to fetch your analytics data. This connection is between your device and your server only.
- Arbory configuration endpoint. The app periodically fetches a remote configuration file from the Arbory server. This request contains no personal data or device identifiers. We count total requests per day to measure overall app activity. No IP addresses, device identifiers, or personal data are stored.
- Notification registration. If you enable daily summary notifications, the app sends an anonymous push token and your timezone to the Arbory server. The server uses this only to send a wake-up signal at the right time and never receives or processes your analytics data.
Widgets and notifications
Home Screen widgets and traffic alert notifications are processed entirely on your device.
If you enable the daily summary feature, your device registers with our server using an anonymous push token and your timezone so we can send a wake-up signal at the right time. Our server is only a timer. It does not receive, process, or store any of your analytics data. When the signal arrives, your device fetches yesterday's stats directly from your own Plausible instance. You can disable this at any time by turning off the daily summary toggle.
Newsletter
If you choose to subscribe to the Arbory newsletter on this website, your email address is sent to Buttondown, a third-party email service that handles delivery and subscription management. Buttondown stores your email address for the sole purpose of sending you newsletter emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email. You can review the Buttondown privacy policy for details on how they handle your data.
No other personal data is collected or shared when you subscribe. Your email address is not used for any purpose beyond the newsletter.
Website analytics
The arbory.io website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool. No personal data is collected, and no cookies are used. You can view the Plausible data policy for details.
Children
Arbory is not directed at children under the age of 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
